Was ist in letzter Zeit bei Transfiguration passiert?? Hier finden Sie relevante Neuigkeiten:
We may not have been tremendous dancers, but we certainly can sing!Especially when led by someone as enthusiastic as Pat Centofanti. Thank you Pat for leading us in song and helping to make our Pentecost celebration very special!
We started our Pentecost service today with African drumming and a wonderful dancer! We had tried to learn the dance before the service started. However we could not come anywhere near this beautiful performance!
Pentecost is always a special celebration here at Transfiguration! The church was beautifully decorated in red and all of the congregation wore at least a touch of red. Renewing our baptismal vows as we do at Pentecost is always very special! And as always there was a wonderful buffet afterwards!
Come Holy Spirit into my Heart-a Pre- Pentecost Retreat After practicing Imaginative Prayer and Meditation, the participants set about decorating the church for tomorrow's Pentecost service. Don't forget to wear red!
Celebrating a very special birthday with a very special lady, Sister Margaret Wrobleski!!
Plans are being made to worship with the congregations of Church of the Ascension on Trinity Sunday June 16th. Unless there is something unforeseen, we will be meeting at the Broad Street entrance to Roger Williams Park for an 11 a.m. outdoor service. In case of rain the service will be held at Transfiguration. I understand that there will be a lovely coffee hour to follow. Please plan to join us to worship with the beauty of nature all around us.
Joining the Worldwide Prayer Movement, Transfiguration invites you to Morning Prayer with meditative exercises on Saturday June 8th between 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. It is rumored that bagels will be served. Please join us for a morning of bagels and prayer.
Easter vigil here at Transfiguration is always a very special event! Beautiful music by Rena, a moving renewal of our baptismal vows, various reenactments of Bible stories, a grand finale of streamers and finally last but not least a toast and a plateful of chocolate.
Maundy Thursday service started with a Mediterranean supper, then the traditional foot-washing and finally with the very emotional stripping of the altar. So special for the Transfiguration family to spend Holy Week together led by our wonderful Reverend Michele.
A little late posting a very happy church service in which we celebrated our friendship with Beautiful Day Granola Company. They help to train refugees to enter the job market successfully. And we are very fortunate that some of their operation is located here at the church. If you have not had the chance to try their granola , it is not to be missed! Yummy!!
We are feeling very thankful to have had Marguerite McLaughlin lead our Lenten retreat today at Transfiguration. We gained such wonderful knowledge of the books of the Bible, wrote our own psalms and of course true to Transfiguration tradition enjoyed some good food - in this case bagels cream cheese coffee and tea.
Last night the Transfiguration family was happy to see Joshua Dean ,who we have watched grow up into a fine young man, become an Eagle Scout. We know that this wonderful achievement was accomplished with the love and support of his parents. Martha was with us in spirit and in our hearts as we watched Ed present Josh with his Eagle badge. Many congratulations from your Transfiguration family.
We are feeling blessed to have had Martha Dean (12/15/1962-3/2/2019) as a member of our Transfiguration family. We want to share a few special memories of our time together. Martha, you will be missed and will always live in our hearts.
We cannot think about Doug without remembering his love of nature. Fortunately he found a group of folks at Transfiguration who also loved to hike and enjoyed being outdoors. And also some brave folks willing to do a little mountain climbing with him. We want to share a few special memories with these photos.
Today we celebrated the life of a dear friend, Doug Barrett. He used his talents as organizer of readers , member of the choir and of the worship committee among many other things too numerous to mention. And he could certainly make us laugh with his creative Saints Day and Halloween outfits! His love of hiking, watching for and studying birds and all of nature was well known to us all. We looked forward to hearing about his hiking trips as well as the adventures he and Marie shared together. Doug you will always be in our hearts!
Today was our 125th Annual Meeting here at Transfiguration. Reverend Michele gave the annual report of the Priest In Charge and all of the individual Ministries were recognized. In addition we celebrated Reverend Michele's birthday with a no calorie cake as well as a potluck lunch. As we always say, at Transfiguration every occasion calls for a celebration with food of every description.
So happy to have had Bishop Knisley celebrate the Feast of the Epiphany with us today. We thank him for the enjoyable and informative sermon. It is always wonderful to have him with us and to enjoy lunch together afterward. Special thanks to Gia, chaplain to the bishop; Orville, crucifer; Mark and Sallie, reader and prayer leader; Rena for beautiful music and Beth for a wonderful lunch. And as always thank you to our very special Reverend Michele who guides us and brings us very special services throughout the Church year!
Feeling blessed to have Rena and a fantastic choir to always provide us with beautiful music!
We were blessed with very enthusiastic pageant participants!

The hard work of those who did The greening of the church on Sunday certainly paid off. Merry Christmas to all from the Transfiguration family!
Yes, we are always eating something at Transfiguration! Along with the wonderful breakfast casseroles made by Don Peck there was a special treat today. There were Donuts of every kind! Our much-loved Doug and Marie Barrett were able to join us for a service today. Since Donuts are a favorite of Doug( and who doesn't like donuts!) there were donuts of every imaginable kind! So happy to have you with us Doug and Marie!
Along with the Grand Opening of LYDIA'S LUXURY ITEMS FOR LESS, our TOUCH OF HEAVEN Thrift Shop held its Fall yard sale with many clothing bargains, gift items, jewelry and Fall holiday decorations. Indoor and outdoor vendors had many interesting things for sale. And of course, when everyone was hungry from shopping Karen was on duty in the kitchen with lots of treats - Donuts, Pizza, hot dogs and chips along with coffee , soda and water. A big thanks to all of those folks who set up, assisted customers and then cleaned up at the end of the day. Lots of fun as usual!
Celebrating the marriage of Laurie Smith to Roth Frias who met and fell in love here at Transfiguration. Wishing our new Mr and Mrs a lifetime of happiness together! So happy to celebrate with you both today!
Today was David and Goliath Sunday. Although our Goliath was a rather friendly-looking fellow, we pelted him with light weight balls marked Love and Hope.Gia really got into the spirit!
